Using Data Enrich to Keep Your CRM Up to Date

Automatically fill in missing business details, contacts, and websites — and review what Overjoy adds before it lands in your CRM.

Written by Team Overjoy

Data Enrich automatically fills in the gaps across your CRM — websites, contacts, business details, and duplicate records — so your team isn't stuck hunting down info before they can reach out. Overjoy continuously scans your businesses, finds the missing pieces, and queues them up for you to review (or auto-approves them if you'd like).

This guide walks through how to use the Data Enrich review queue, what each status means, and how to configure auto-enrichment.

Accessing Data Enrich

From the left navigation, go to SettingsData Enrich. This is your central hub for reviewing and managing all enrichment activity across your CRM.

Understanding the Status Bar

At the top of the Data Enrich page, you'll see a horizontal status bar that breaks down every enrichment item by its current state. Use the To Review dropdown at the top to filter the table down to any of these statuses.

Reviewing Enrichments

Every row in the table represents one enrichment — a single attribute Overjoy has filled in (or wants to fill in) on a business. You'll see:

  • Business Name — The business the enrichment applies to.

  • Started by — Who or what kicked off the enrichment. This will be either Overjoy System (auto-triggered) or a teammate's name (if they manually requested it).

  • Enriched at — When the enrichment was completed.

  • Attribute — What's being added or updated. Common attributes include:

    • Website — Adds a verified business website.

    • Contact — Adds a new contact (name and email) to the business.

    • Merge — Identifies a duplicate business and proposes merging it with an existing record.

  • Value — The proposed value (e.g., the website URL or contact email). For Merge actions, the value is shown when you open the row.

To approve or reject an enrichment, check the box next to the row and click Approve or Reject at the top of the table. You can select multiple rows at once to bulk-approve or bulk-reject.

Auto-Enrich

Toggle Auto-enrich ON in the top right to let Overjoy automatically apply high-confidence enrichments without requiring manual approval. When auto-enrich is on:

  • Overjoy will continuously scan your CRM for businesses with missing data.

  • High-confidence enrichments (e.g., a clearly verified website) will be applied automatically.

  • Lower-confidence enrichments will still show up in To Review for you to approve.

We recommend turning auto-enrich on once you've spent some time reviewing enrichments and feel confident in the quality.

Manually Enriching Businesses

If you want to enrich a specific set of businesses right away, click + Enrich Businesses in the top right. From there you can select the businesses and attributes you'd like Overjoy to fill in.

Sorting and Filtering

Use the controls above the table to narrow down what you're looking at:

  • Sorted by — Sort by when each enrichment was completed.

  • Attribute — Filter to only show enrichments for a specific attribute (e.g., only show Website enrichments, or only Merge proposals).

This is especially helpful when you want to bulk-review one type of enrichment at a time — for example, approving all website enrichments first, then moving on to contacts.

Best Practices

  • Review by attribute type: Filter to one attribute at a time so you can move through approvals quickly.

  • Start with auto-enrich off: Spend the first week reviewing enrichments manually so you get a feel for the quality. Once you're comfortable, turn auto-enrich on.

  • Pay extra attention to Merge actions: Merging two businesses combines all their contacts, orders, and history. Review these carefully before approving.

  • Keep an eye on the Failed bucket: If you see a lot of failures, reach out to support — there may be a configuration issue we can help fix.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the enrichment data come from?

Overjoy uses a combination of public web sources and our internal data pool of millions of US local businesses to find and verify information.

How long does enrichment take?

Most enrichments complete within a few minutes. Larger batches may take longer and will work through the queue in the background.

Will Data Enrich overwrite information I've already entered?

No. Data Enrich only fills in missing fields. If a business already has a website on file, Overjoy won't propose a new one unless you explicitly request it.
